Research On Social Responsibility Of Law Firms

Legal service is deeply changing each aspect of our social life,then law firms have been playing a crucial role in economic and social development.With the increasing development of globalization and highlighting potential of information technology,legal market is experiencing unprecedented changes.Social responsibility gradually extends from enterprises to various social organizations and becomes an important issue that law fims need to consider while providing professional legal service.In recent years,social responsibility realized the leap from theory to practice and the publication of social responsibility reports reflects the enhancement of law firms' awareness of social responsibility.The social responsibility is still a new thing for many people.What are the levels of social responsibility?What are the compiling principles and contents of social responsibility reports?What are the obstacles to the implementation of law firms' social responsibility and how to solve it?The author takes the existing law firms' social responsibility reports as researching object and studies the social responsibility of law firms in five parts in this paper.The first part is an overview of law firms' social responsibility.The author gives the definition of social responsibility from the definition of semantics and approximate concepts,clarifies the misunderstanding of law firms' social responsibility and then sums up the three major characters of law firms' social responsibility.The second part,after figuring out the connotation of social responsibility,we can construct the vertical system of law firms' social responsibility according to the logic of corporate social responsibility,analyzes the content of each level and then provide reference for the practice of law firms' social responsibility.The third part is the study of the contents of social responsibility reports of the law firms,the author sorts out current disclosure situation,forms and editing principles of social responsibility reports and introduces the editing standards of society responsibility reports which is widely used as well.The fourth part mainly analyzes present realization of law firms' social responsibility and summarizes the commonness,differences and obstacles in the realization of social responsibility in order to give better solution to the difficulties in the practice of social responsibility.The fifth part puts forward the specific strategy of the realization of law firms'social responsibility,discusses realization mechanism of social responsibility from three aspects of operation mechanism,cultivation of the value and the objective ways,including the enhancement of operability of the relevant laws and regulations,the establishment of long-term goals and launching young lawyers to participate in order to develop people-oriented social responsibility values.In addition,the firms can establish appropriate organization,develop standard and introduce trial and cooperation for the purpose to optimize social responsibility mechanism.
