A Study On The Social Conflicts In The Development Of Hydropower Resources In Mekong River Basin

The Mekong River Basin is rich in water resources and has great potential for development,The Mekong River Basin countries belong to the developing countries,the country is committed to economic development,requires a lot of energy,so it's a very good choice for basin countries to develop their rich river water resources,However,with the construction of hydropower dams in the Mekong River basin,the development of hydropower projects is accompanied by a series of domestic,national and regional social conflicts,the social conflict of hydropower has become more and more attention and concern,and has had a broad and far-reaching impact on the international relations of the countries of Southeast Asia.This paper chooses typical cases,Analysis of the social conflict in the lower Mekong River by using social conflict theory.Through three cases analysis,Respectively,to explore the hydropower project development in the domestic,bilateral,regional level of interaction and coordination of conflict,And analyzes the mode,characteristics and coordination mechanism of hydropower social conflicts,Finally,this paper summarizes the influence factors of hydropower social conflicts,and puts forward some suggestions for China to participate in the development of hydropower in the Mekong river.On the whole,The characteristics of the social conflict in the Mekong River Basin have a structural contradiction,conflicts are complex and uncertain,the strength of external forces involved and so on,Finally,from the characteristics of hydropower social conflicts,Explores the implications of China's participation in the Mekong River hydropower development cooperation,The paper puts forward the suggestions to strengthen the hydropower investment risk forecast,pay attention to the environmental impact and social impact assessment of the hydropower project,actively participate in the multi-communication,pay attention to the maintenance of the enterprise image to solve the social conflict caused by hydropower development.
