The Impact Of Public Service Satisfaction On The Urban Identity

Urbanization is a prerequisite and an essential foundation for the realization of socialist modernization in the new period.There is an inseparable relationship between the sustainable promotion of urbanization and the identification and promotion of urban identities.In accelerating the process of urbanization,it is particularly important to emphasize the identity of urban residents.At present,domestic scholars' research on urban identity mostly focuses on the urban integration of new citizens or migrant workers,and the influencing factors are attributed to demographic characteristics such as household registration,housing,and work.However,in Zhengzhou,a large proportion of citizens still do not have a strong sense of urban identity in the case of household registration,housing and work are complete,and even a large base of old citizens think that there is no sense of urban identity.After the initial investigation,the author found that most citizens attributed the lack of urban identity to dissatisfaction with public services.Based on the subjective psychological variables,this paper discusses the reconstructing of the factors that influence urban identity.What basic elements of public service are what the people need and what the city needs for sustainable cohesion is the core of this paper and also an innovation point.In this study,urban residents were selected as the study objects.Sample surveys were conducted in Zhengzhou City,Luoyang City,Shangqiu City,Xinyang City,Hebi City,and Jiyuan City in Henan Province.A total of 641 samples were obtained.Quantitative research methods are used to establish the relationship between public service satisfaction and urban identity.First,the basic data of the questionnaire is processed,and a basic descriptive statistical analysis of sample demographic characteristics,public service satisfaction of urban residents,and urban identity is conducted,then we establish research hypotheses,taking the eight dimensions of public service satisfaction as independent variables,urban identity and its four dimensions as dependent variables,and again through multiple linear regressionmodels,ordered multi-class logistic regression models,and two-class logistic regression.The model and the structural equation model test the hypothesis and draw the following conclusions:(1)The more satisfied the urban residents are with the environment,basic education,and government services in their cities,the higher the overall sense of identity of their cities is.The concrete manifestation is: for every increase of one unit in the degree of satisfaction of urban residents' basic education,the overall sense of urban identity increases by 0.535 units.For each additional unit of urban environmental satisfaction,the overall urban identity increases by 0.931 units.For each additional unit of government service satisfaction,the overall urban identity increases by 0.583 units.(2)The improvement of the urban environment is conducive to the promotion of urban residents' cultural identity.The concrete expression is: For each additional unit of urban residents' urban environmental satisfaction,their urban cultural identity increases by 0.535 units.(3)With the rapid development of urban medical and health services,the status of urban residents' identity has increased.With the increase of government services,the sense of identity of urban residents has grown steadily.(4)The quality of the urban environment also affects the sense of identity of urban residents.The concrete expression is: The odds ratio of the urban identity of the urban residents who are satisfied with the urban environment is the urban identity of residents who are not satisfied with the urban environment.1.654 times the ratio,and increase gradually.(5)Urban environment,level of basic education,improvement of social security system construction,and current state of government services will affect the degree of urban residents' dependence on their cities.The specific system will be: Urban residents' basic education satisfaction will increase by one unit,and the overall city The sense of identity increased by 0.151 units.For each additional unit of social security satisfaction,the city's geographical identity increased by 0.126 units.For each additional unit of urban environmental satisfaction,the overall urban identity increased by 0.205 units.For each additional unit of satisfaction,its overall urban identity increased by 0.146 units.Finally,based on the above findings,we propose targeted recommendations to enhance urban residents' sense of identity:(1)We should strengthen the constructionof urban ecological environment and improve the living environment of urban residents.(2)We should strengthen the construction of a service-oriented government and establish a "service government that the people are satisfied with."(3)With basic education construction as a driving force for development,we should gradually increase the sustainability of urban development.(4)We should improve the health care system and continuously enhance the status of urban residents.(5)We should trengthen the construction of the social security system so that urban residents will be more attached to their own cities.
