An Analysis Of Women's Liberation Thought In The Origin Of The Family,Private Property And The State

The issue of women's emancipation is not only the focus of feminists,but also a major issue that affects the development of the entire human society.As people continue to explore and study women's issues in society,Engels' s emancipation of women elucidated in “The Origins of Family,Private Ownership,and the State”(hereinafter referred to as “Origin”)is gradually being concerned by people and widely applied to the construction of social systems.From the perspective of historical materialism,this article can be seen through the analysis of the process of the formation of Engels' thoughts on women's emancipation,under different social backgrounds,Engels' views on women's issues have different perspectives.From “The State of the Working Class in the UK” to the “ Manifesto of the Communist Party,” Engels described women's severe oppression condition in capitalist society,then in “Origin”,he made a detailed analysis on the root causes that contribute to the changes in the status of women from the primitive society to the civilized society,while clearly providing women with the means to liberate themselves.The greatness of Engels was that he proceeded to examine the issue of women's emancipation from the height of the liberation of the proletariat and to classify women's liberation into the great cause of proletarian liberation.However,for the root cause of the oppression of women,he believes that it is mainly due to the continuous improvement of social productivity in which men occupy more and more important positions.As human producers,women do not have the exchange value of goods for their labor production,therefore,they are gradually excluded from the field of social production.In addition,the differences in the division of labor between men and women and the emergence of private ownership have forced women's status to decline.Witnessed by the development of modern society,Engels' s women's emancipation ideology has provided an important guide for China women's issues and had a profound influence.The theory of women's emancipation explored by Engels in his “origin” has provided theoretical guidance for the solution of women's issues in China.It has enriched and developed the socialist women's theories with Chinese characteristics,and helped China to launch the women's liberation movement successfully.
