A Study Of China's Soft Power In Southeast Asia

Southeast Asia is located in the fortress,connecting the shipping market of East Asia and Southeast Asia.It is the key affects about the economic structure of the world today.Nowadays the relationship during countries and Southeast Asia is becoming more and more important in the international strategy.What is more,China and Southeast are neighbors,to a certain extent Southeast Asia is Chinese national security perimeter,an important factor to Chinese political stability which directly affects the stability and development of the economy in China.With the rapid growth of economy in China,China ties with the world more and closely.Meanwhile,the number of friction and contradictions between China and countries in Southeast Asian also increased,which has a negative impact on Chinese national security,politics and economy.Thus,it is of great significance for China to build a national soft power and maintain regional peace and development in Southeast Asia.Besides the growing strength of China's hard power,the relationship between China and Southeast Asian countries is becoming increasingly close,and China has shown a strong influence in Southeast Asia.This influence is not through threat or deterrence on hard power,but a natural result of fostering and developing Chinese soft power in Southeast Asia.In recent years,through the enhancing of China mode,national image,cultural communication,cultural exchanges and cooperation,humanitarian assistance,international disputes,and actively build new order of international community construction and development of the China way in the southeast region of soft power,and showing a strong attraction.In addition,due to the particularity and complexity of Southeast Asia in the world,China has both advantages and limitations in enhancing its national soft power in Southeast Asia.It is important to correctly know Chinese advantages and limitations on building up the national soft power in Southeast Asia.It will a be benefit for China to play well the role of soft power,maintain the common peace and development in China and Southeast Asia.This article is divided into six parts.The first chapter is the introduction,which introduces the background,research status and research methods of the article.The second chapter introduces the theory of soft power comprehensively,including the emergence and development of soft power,the basic concept,composition and manifestation of soft power,and demonstrates the development of soft power theory from two dimensions of theoretical exploration and social practice.The third chapter points out the important role of soft power in the new international society,and then considers the motive force of Chinese soft power development and the special significance of developing soft power in Southeast Asia to China.The fourth chapter,combined with the components and manifestations of soft power,states three ways to build Chinese soft power in Southeast Asia: enhancing political influence,increasing cultural attractiveness and enhancing diplomatic persuasiveness.The fifth chapter states the development status of Chinese soft power in Southeast Asia.Firstly,from the historical point of view summed up Chinese in Southeast Asia development pattern recognition,significantly improve the national image;cultural communication,cultural exchanges and cooperation more closely;actively carry out humanitarian assistance,is committed to solve international disputes and actively build a new international order and other aspects of the work,to change Chinese soft power in Southeast Asia from the perspective of vertical development.Secondly,the author compares the investment and cooperation between the United States and the soft power in Southeast Asia,and examines the current situation of Chinese soft power in Southeast Asia from the perspective of horizontal comparison.Finally,combined with the above analysis,considering the particularity and complexity of the political and economic development in Southeast Asia,we analyzed the strengths and limitations ofChinese soft power in Southeast Asia and put forward countermeasures for China to develop.
