The current mode of public recruitment examination for police officers has brought new changes to the recruitment system of the police.With students from public security universities nationwide becoming the major force in this team,these new changes drive the reform of courses in police affairs.The purpose of the teaching of techniques in police affairs is to develop students' proficiency in enforcing the law,their professional abilities and their practical experience.However,among numerous courses of this kind,the quality of teaching of different courses is not even and the teaching is not always clearly targeted at this teaching purpose.In terms of this,it is necessary to inquire how the teaching of techniques in police affairs in public security universities could be modified and adjusted to meet the general requirements of the recruitment examination and to improve students' proficiency in police affairs and their working ability.This article starts from the discussion of current public recruitment examination,then it moves on to the deficiencies of the teaching of police affairs,and then provides possible suggestions for course design that might help improve the teaching quality and further improve the working ability of the entire police system.The structure of this study is as follows:Chapter one is the account of the research background,research purpose and the necessity of the study.Besides,previous researches around this topic nationwide are reviewed and the methodology is explained.Chapter two is about the detailed analysis of the current public recruitment examination,from which summarizes the requirements of the recruitment examination and discuss the potential factors contributing to proficiency in police affairs.Chapter three discusses the current situation of teaching of police affairs based on questionnaires delivered to students in three local and central public security universities.Chapter four lists out possible suggestions for the teaching of police affairs according to the deficiencies in teaching that have been discussed earlier.Chapter five contains the lesson design of the teaching of tactics in police affairs based on previous analysis of the current teaching.
