As two important thinkers of Weimar Germany,Schmitt and Benjamin have a common interest in "Decision".It is partly due to their opposition to a linear progressive view of history, which corresponds to the establishment of God's Kingdom on earth,Marxism being a typical case.Schmitt appeals to "Katechor" to hold back the earthly salvation promised by the Antichrist, whilst for Benjamin it is the Jewish Messianic idea that replace the secular one. Both thinkers are extreme dualists denying the correspondence between history and salvation.Schmitt proclaims a"Stasiology" in order to bound human beings to a perpetual shock of profane history. He sets a battle field in which the impulsion of apocalyptical dualism is regulated and limited.Benjamin wants to accelerate the arrival of Messianic Kingdom by pursuing the profane happiness and the eternal passing away of the world, which is a paradoxical method.Although Schmitt and Benjamin both share intellectual affinities in "Decision" and "Dualism".They are enemies in nature, like the antagonism between Katechon and Messiah.
