Big data is a model for collecting, processing and applying new data information based on the Internet and cloud computing. The emergence of the era of big data has brought great convenience to people's lives, work, and scientific research activities, but at the same time it has also made the protection of personal information face unprecedented threats. In the era of big data,Internet users, network service providers, and state administrative agencies often resort to big data to intentionally or unintentionally infringe upon citizens' personal information. The infringements usually manifest themselves as inappropriate collection, improper use,and improper use of personal information. In the era of big data, many developed countries started early in the field of protecting personal information and have been at the forefront of world development. In particular, the industry self-discipline model represented by the United States and the legal regulation model led by the European Union are worth learning. The current status of our country's personal information protection system is that the legislation is relatively decentralized and there is no specific legislative system, and citizens' awareness of personal information protection is weak, and the responsibility for infringing personal information is difficult to define.Although Chinese personal information protection system is continuously improving, there are still some deficiencies in comparison with developed countries. To this end,we must speed up the improvement of relevant laws and regulations and formulate special laws.At the same time,we must also strengthen the construction of industry self-discipline mechanisms, strengthen the management and supervision of the use of personal information by administrative agencies, and continuously improve the legal awareness of the protection of citizens' personal information.
