Objective: to estimate the size of drug addicts and the number of drug users in western provinces and cities and age groups. Methods: This study combined with the dynamic control data of drug addicts in the western province from 1989 to 2017,and used the classic capture and recapture method to estimate the scale of drug addicts at all levels in this province. Results: the dominant and recessive proportion of all drug addicts in this province is about 1:4,and the total number of drug addicts is about 320 thousand.Drug addicts of different age groups have different apparent proportion and base size, and even marriage and occupation will affect the size distribution of drug users.Studies have shown that the size of the drug addicts and the size of the explicit recessive proportion directly cause the huge social potential impact of drug addicts, not drug addicts and addicts who have been addicted to drugs, and have been valued by the social and related anti drug departments.A big problem and a severe challenge in today's society. The data further showed that the largest proportion of drug addicts between 36-55 years of age of drug addicts was 40%,and 50% of the drug addicts were married.Second, the proportion of unemployed and farmers accounted for 50% in the occupation ratio of drug addicts. The classic method of capture and recapture is used to estimate the base number and the explicit recessive proportion of drug addicts in the western province. The capture and recapture method can effectively solve the cost problems, save time and labor, and avoid the inconvenience and shortcomings of the investigation.Through the above research,we will lay a theoretical foundation for drug abuse in our province.
