A Study Of Ethnic Cultural Identity Under Intersubjectivity

The study based on the subject in the ontology of perspective,reference Speculum Mentis by R.G Collingwood's book,try to consider man and culture as the two subject of equal interaction,in this interaction to talk about how to make Hmong people form the cultural identity of "Wizards".Therefore the author through life histories of the two generations of Hmong " Wizards" who named Cao and live in Guizhou Province,Liupanshui city,Liuzhi special district,Xia BA village,with its vivid,real and different life experience as a field material to demonstrate the maneuverability of Speculum Mentis in ethnological research about cultural identity.Except the introduction and conclusion,sections arrangement and writing of this dissertation have four chapters,and these four chapters also form three parts structure of this dissertation.At the first part,we paves the way for the following chapters by introduce the name,social position,function and origin of Hmong “Wizards”.The second part writes life histories of two generations “Wizard” and traces back the interactive memories of “Wizards” in process of growing up,and choice some related events constitute their life histories to describes the interaction between “Human and Culture” with the perspective of Intersubjectivity.And then we review their life histories at the last part,focus on two generations life histories to analysis and make a demonstration of this research's hypothesis and give a conclusion.“Wizard” has played a key role during Hmong funeral,although there are some differences like Intergeneration,Growing Environment,Educational Level and so on,every generation of “Wizards” had based on the individual's recognition of family surnames and paternal family structure to understand the deeply culture of Hmong social structure and the operation mechanism.After the interactive experience of funeral ceremony about "Human and Culture",those “Wizards” will put on a show to release ghost,educate alive,and maintenance the social operation of Hmong.In another word,from this case study of some life histories,we can understand the process of “Wizard” cultural identity at corresponding era background.The process is someone's personal life history,it is someone's personal intellectual history,it is even a cultural history of corresponding era that we can find out from people's full life and it also preserves ruins of the History of Chines Thought since the Song Dynasty at minority area.When we focus on those differences of generation gap to analysis cultural identity of Hmong "Wizard",we can finally find out this cultural identity for those native Hmong peoples is an identification of social mechanism under the patriarchal family system.When we remove the label of Hmong Culture and expand our view to analysis mutual recognition of “Human and Culture”,we discovered a Speculum Culture that made by the migration of ethnic elites between mighty and weak civilizations.
