After the cold war,the pattern of international order and the balance of power were divided into groups. As emerging economies,China,India and ASEAN emerged at the historic moment.Southeast Asia is located at the sea bottleneck, known as the"Asian Balkans".It has always been the focus of great powers'attention and interaction. As the center of regional cooperation,ASEAN has gradually developed into a community with a coordinated pace and established a competitive, independent and unified foreign policy.China and India are playing an increasingly important role in world economic development with their huge economic size. With China and India focusing their regional strategy on Southeast Asia, these three important forces meet in Southeast Asia, beginning with the emergence of complex tripartite game interaction outside of bilateral interaction. At the beginning of the 21st century, former Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew and Goh Chok Tong of Singapore once compared China and India as the "left and right wings" of ASEAN's economic boom.China and India's influence in Southeast Asia has been increasing.ASEAN has increasingly become an important tripartite force influencing the political, economic and security patterns of Southeast Asia, and has a profound impact on the prospects of East Asian integration and the regional order and pattern of Asia.Triangle relations,as a group of important concepts of inter-state relations, are most classically used as the strategic triangle between China, the United States and the Soviet Union during the Cold War.Nixon's visit to China in the 1970s highlighted the intention of the United States to contact China in order to counteract the Soviet Union.Unlike the zero-sum game strategic triangular relationship during the Cold War,the triangular relationship in the new era presents a more healthy and interactive situation, and divides into regional-level triangular relations, such as China,Pakistan and India, and global-level triangle relations, such as China, the United States,Japan,China,Russia and so on.Through the analysis of a group of trilateral relations,we can explain and predict the power combination and competing behavior among the three actors to a certain extent.Based on this, this paper will combine the theory of triangular relationship with the theory of structural realism to analyze whether India and Southeast Asia have formed a trilateral relationship in the sense of regional level, whether they have formed a structure in the economic field as Lee Kuan Yew and others have said, analyze the modes of trilateral relations in different fields, analyze the factors affecting trilateral relations, and then judge the possible evolution direction of trilateral relations. At the same time, with the rising status of geopolitical economy and energy in Southeast Asia, the return of the United States to the Asia-Pacific region, and the more complicated regional environment and strength comparison in Southeast Asia, the analysis of the trilateral relationship between India and India in Southeast Asia is of great academic significance to the analysis of the trilateral competitive and cooperative relationship between India and ASEAN,the regional order of Southeast Asia and even Asia, and the development model of economic integration. From the perspective of tripartite interaction,we can analyze the current security dilemma faced by China in Southeast Asia, and peek into the interaction between China and India in different regions of the world,so as to promote the sound development of Sino-Indian relations.
