South Korea and Japan have been in a state of uncertainty due to historical issues and contradictions between the territories. However, the geographical location of the two countries is extremely geopolitical and special, and both sides are important military allies of the United States in Northeast Asia.Due to actual needs,in recent years, cooperation in security between the two sides has become increasingly frequent. With the United States as the link, the embarrassing actions between the two countries in the security field have made the two sides develop from "indirect alliances" to"quasi-alliance.”From the performance point of view, the cooperation between the two countries in the security field has gradually become institutionalized, and the form of cooperation has begun to focus on the substantive effects. The change in attitudes between the two sides in the security field is due to various factors. The unstable situation on the Korean Peninsula bears the brunt, and the United States has a considerable voice in it.In addition, the strategic development needs of both Korea and Japan and the potential threats to China's rise are all It is the driving force for Korea-Japan security cooperation. In 2016,the two countries signed the "Military Intelligence Protection Agreement" and opened the Pandora's Box,which shared military intelligence between the two countries. This is the first military cooperation agreement signed by South Korea and Japan since World War ?.While strengthening the interaction of security strategies, the security cooperation between the two sides has also shown an institutionalized trend. However, the unresolved territorial disputes between the two sides, the long-standing historical problems and the persistent contradictions of national sentiments have always been the destabilizing factors for further deepening security cooperation between the two sides. It can be seen that the two sides will not form a true military alliance. The too strong South Korea-Japan alliance is not in line with the strategic interests of the United States in Northeast Asia. Moreover, the situation on the Korean Peninsula has begun to warm up in the past two years.Although the current situation is still unclear,it has also given South Korea a certain confidence. To a certain extent,it has weakened the strong correlation between the two sides in the security field.Under the influence of multiple factors, the military cooperation performance of the Korea-Japan-Treasury alliance shows the characteristics of coexistence of cooperation and friction, safety cooperation and historical issues, and there will be a development model of high opening and low.
