Referring to guns,we will first think of the United States, when it comes to gun issues,we will also think of the United States, where gun shooting are frequent. This is not only because the United States is the world's largest weapons manufacturer, but also because the United States has its unique gun culture and management methods. It is also "unique" that has brought a series of gun problems to American society.Speaking of the gun issues in the United States,it seems that this is an inevitable phenomenon and an unavoidable problem. It is not so much the injustice of American society and the psychological distortion of human beings that cause the gun problems, but rather the inherent "hidden danger" of the United States. Why do you say that? From the perspective of historical tradition and constitution,it can be clear. In the 16 th century, when the first European colonists set foot on the American continent, they were faced with an extremely harsh external environment, which forced them to take up arms to resist the attacks of wild animals and the harassment of local Indians;besides,if they wanted to survive, they had to learn to hunt, which was their means of subsistence.Slowly, people fell in love with hunting and shooting. This love is deeply rooted in American nature.During the subsequent American War of Independence, because the government did not organize unified and effective defense measures,it only relied on its own strength to protect itself and its family, thus forming the situation of "all soldiers",which was later widely known as "militia"."Militia" played a key role in the American War of Independence and made great contributions to the victory of the American War of Independence. This war naturally became a major turning point for American citizens to hold guns, provided rationality for the use of guns, owned guns to protect the country, and protected the personal safety and wealth of citizens. The birth of the people has further established the status of guns in the eyes of Americans. After the War of Independence,a vibrant country, the United States appeared the world. In order to manage the country better, the founding fathers began to formulate a constitution,in which fierce discussions were held on whether the people should continue to hold guns.Because of mistrust of the standing army and fear of losing popular support, the second amendment to the Constitution on the freedom of holding guns was finally established: A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed. At this point, the legal status of gun freedom was established.Although the problem of firearms in the United States continues today, the status of the Second Amendment to the Constitution has not been shaken at all,but has been further consolidated.Take the Heller case in 2008 and the Macdonald case in 2010 as examples. It is precisely because of its unshakable legal status that the gun control in the United States has been difficult, and there has been no substantial progress. We should focus on the factors affecting the gun control problem.Only by finding out the source of the gun problem and the reasons why it is difficult to carry out the gun control problem, can we solve the gun problem and grasp the present situation and later trend.Based on the collection of historical data of the United States and the study of the Second Amendment to the Constitution, and some data and typical cases, this paper mainly discusses the following four aspects: First, the issue of guns in contemporary America. This part summarizes and analyses the cases of gun flooding and shooting to illustrate the seriousness of the gun problem in contemporary America.Secondly, the source of the gun problem in contemporary America. It has its legal roots and traditional factors.Starting from these two aspects, this paper makes a detailed demonstration.Third, the history of gun control. From a series of laws on gun control enacted by the United States since the 20 th century,it can be seen that the United States government is also trying its best to solve the problem of guns.Although the views of the two parties are different, they are also for the so-called development of the United States and their respective interests.Fourthly, the dilemma of the problem of gun control. This part is to explore the obstacles to solving the problem of firearms, that is,why is it so difficult to control firearms in the United States? Starting from the analysis of typical cases,it is not difficult to find that if the problem of firearms in the United States is to be solved smoothly,it is not only necessary to cross the first wall of the Second Amendment to the Constitution, but also to get rid of the participation of interest groups and pay attention to the changes of people's moods and attitudes. Therefore,it is more difficult to ban or control firearms in the United States than to ascend to the sky. There are some obstacles that can not be ignored. In a word, the issue of gun control in contemporary America is also a hot issue in the world today.Through the study of this issue,we can better understand the social system and political essence of the United States.
