Interest groups are the fundamentals of politics in America. Many interest groups leap over different industries and form a network for their common interest. This network has very strong impacts on American foreign policies. This political framework in America made possible the influence of military-industrial complex on America's making of foreign policies. This paper mainly studies the impact of the US military-industrial complex on US foreign policies. The first part summarizes the basic situation of the US military-industrial complex, summarizes and analyzes the concept and classification of the US military-industrial complex, and elaborates the development stage of the US military-industrial complex. Then,on this basis, the three characteristics of today's military-industrial complex are summarized. The second part mainly discusses the formulation of foreign policies of theUS military-industrial complex from two dimensions:three horizontal approaches and three links in the vertical decision-making process. The third part mainly analyzes the impact of the military-industrial complex on US foreign policies by using case analysis. This article mainly analyzes two typical cases of arms sales to Taiwan during the Bush administration and the Iraq war. There is also a detailed analysis of the role played by the military complex in these two political events. As an important and special part of US interest groups, the military-industrial complex has profound economic power as well as political clout. It reaches out to all walks of life in the country, and has extensive influence on American foreign policies.During the administration of George Walker Bush, firearms interest groups showed strong support for the government, which ushered in a new era of the military-industrial complex.Beginning from 9/11,America has elevated the significance of national security to a new height, started selling arms to Taiwan, and started the Iraq war.The above cases show the significant influence of the military-industrial complex on decision-making and issuing of policies.
