Research On The Attitude If Singapore's Lianhe Zaobao Editorial To The Trump Adminstration

This article selects the Lianhe Zaobao editorial text from January 20,2017,to January 20,2019,as the research object,using Singapore government documents and key leaders' speeches as reference materials to explore Singapore's Lianhe Zaobao and the Singapore authorities.Political attitudes and positions toward the Trump administration.This article uses the content analysis method,text research method and literature research method,mainly analyzes and discusses 1.The political attitude and the emotional tendency of the Lianhe Zaobao editorial to the Trump administration;2.The Singapore government's opinion on Trump Political attitudes and positions;3.Analysis of the similarities and differences between the views of the Lianhe Zaobao and the Singapore government.The conclusions of this study can be divided into four levels.(1)According to the sentiment analysis system data,the Lianhe Zaobao editorial text is for Trump himself and the government's negative emotions are more expressed.In the textual study of the Lianhe Zao editorial,the researchers found that the newspaper linked Trump with unilateralism,trade protectionism,and populism,arguing that its actions continue to pose a substantial threat to economic globalization.Its populism and xenophobic political performance have also created more international friction and even conflict.(2)The Singaporean authorities'political attitudes and positions toward the Trump administration are more conservative and neutral.As the US trade protection act has hurt the domestic economy,Singapore has repeatedly publicly expressed its opposition to trade protectionism;on the other hand,Singapore has continued to affirm The importance of the United States in the Asia-Pacific region,I hope that the Trump administration can propose a new strategy that values the region.(3)Based on the country,s political and economic conditions and the news management system,the Lianhe Zaobao and the Singaporean government have basically the same political attitude and political stance on the Trump administration.But Lianhe Zaobao in the editorial,he expressed more negative emotions,expressed more direct dissatisfaction with Trump,and showed more goodwill to China.(4)The political views expressed by the government of Singapore and the editorial of Lianhe Zaobao both represent the consistent or inconsistent mainstream public opinions and political attitudes of different levels and groups in Singapore towards trump and his government.Among them,their political attitudes are highly consistent,which reflects that the mainstream public opinion in Singapore has the same political and economic demands for trump and the trump administration on issues such as international trade,politics in the Asia-pacific region,ethnicity and religion,and environment and climate.The minority differences between Lianhe Zaobao and the views of the government also reflect that the mainstream public opinion in Singapore is more critical of the trump administration,and to some extent,the Chinese community in Singapore is more negative towards the trump administration.
