Dai Longlin in Xishuangbanna originated from the primitive religion and ancestor worship. In the long process of Dai's historical development, and in the process of adapting to the local ecological environment,Dai Longlin and other cultural matters together constructed a set of indigenous knowledge system related to the whole Dai village cultural space, and then constructed the landscape pattern, carried out farming and culture in the local area.Identity plays an important role.Like a chain, indigenous knowledge in Longlin connects the whole politics, economy and culture of the local Dai society in series to form a indigenous knowledge network with complex internal and external interweaving and relations.Taking Manla village,a typical Dai village in Menghai County of Xishuangbanna as a field point, this paper investigates the basic contents of indigenous knowledge of Dai forest and the cognitive differences among different local villagers through qualitative field investigation and quantitative questionnaire survey, and makes a sociocultural analysis of the differences from the perspective of anthropology. On the basis of field investigation, the author divides the indigenous knowledge of Longlin into three dimensions:Longlin belief, technology practice, organization and management mechanism.Longlin belief is a summary of how local Dai people understand nature and society, how to understand the relationship between man and nature. The technical practice of indigenous knowledge of Longlin is how local villagers put the concept and cognition of local ecological culture into their production and life practice. The organization and management mechanism of Longlin can sometimes be simplified into managerial knowledge. It is to coordinate the relationship between different groups when facing the natural environment. In this paper, different groups of villagers include three age groups(young group is 20-40 years old,middle-aged group is 41-60 years old,old group is over 60 years old)and two different gender groups, male and female. The results show that age and gender are indeed important factors affecting the practice and inheritance of indigenous knowledge in Longlin.Regarding indigenous knowledge in Longlin, there is a downward trend from the elderly to the young in both belief level and technical practice and organization and management level. At the same time, the study also shows that male villagers are significantly higher than female villagers in the reserve of indigenous knowledge in Longlin. In a word, under the influence of modernization, the indigenous kno.wledge of Manila's dumplings is losing. The reasons for this result are multiple. It is driven by internal and external factors. For example, young people have more opportunities to go out to work.At the same time, they receive more modern school education than the elderly and middle-aged people, which to some extent weakens their understanding of the traditional culture of the nation. The results of this study show that under the background of rapid changes in social culture and economy, the fragile indigenous knowledge in marginal areas is gradually disappearing;at the same time, the change of indigenous knowledge in Manila Dai forest can also serve as a mirror to show that the whole Dai society and culture are undergoing tremendous changes.
