Discussion On Advancing The Full Coverage Of Legal Aid Of Criminal Defense

The criminal legal aid system is an important part of the criminal litigation system.Improving the criminal legal aid system is one of the major measures of Chinese judicial reform over the years.Although the criminal legal aid system has developed continuously,it has not achieved the gratifying effect expected by legislators and scholars.The problems about the low rate of criminal defense and legal aid of criminal defense has not been solved.In recent years,with the pilot scheme to promote the full coverage of legal aid of criminal defense implementing,the gradual promotion of “the full coverage” will become a trend.To effectively promote the full coverage of criminal defense legal aid,two major problems need to be solved,one is to ensure the number of legal aid personnel,and the other is to guarantee the quality of legal aid of criminal defense.Therefore,we should base our country's judicial status,improve our understanding of the legal aid of criminal defense,broaden the scope of legal aid personnel,strengthen the protection of lawyers' rights,establish the Classification System for Legal Aid Lawyer,Contract System for Criminal Legal Aid and Quality Supervision System for Legal Aid,etc.
