Analysis And Comments On The Modi Government's Foreign Policy Towards Myanmar

After the Modi government came into power,India vigorously developed its diplomatic relations with Myanmar.High-level visits are frequent,economic and trade exchanges are intensified,and military security cooperation is deepening.Moody's policy of Act East Policy and Neighbor First Policy raised India's existing Look East Policy to a new level.Modi believes that positive development of relations with Myanmar is conducive to India's overall interests and is a priority of India's foreign policy.The purpose of this study is to explore the characteristics and motivation of the Modi government's policy towards Myanmar,and to explore the impact of changes in India-Myanmar relations on China's foreign policy.Through reading and sorting out the literature at home and abroad,we will continue to follow up the implementation of India's foreign policy towards Myanmar,systematically comb India's foreign policy by using historical analysis method,and analyze the characteristics and motivation of the Modi government's foreign policy change in Myanmar by using literature analysis method.Through the study,it is found that the prominent characteristics of Modi Government's formulation and implementation of foreign policy towards Myanmar are not only strengthening geopolitical factors,but also cleverly using public diplomacy to develop relations with Myanmar.In addition,the Modi government's foreign policy towards Myanmar is mainly based on the realistic needs of India.India maintains the stability of northeastern India and weakens China's long-term influence in Myanmar by developing relations with Myanmar,and ensures the stable supply of Indian energy to promote India's steady development.However,although the improvement of India-Myanmar relations will not weaken China's influence in Myanmar in the short term,it will have a negative impact on the stability of China-Myanmar relations,as well as on the instability of the security environment around China.The analysis of the motives and characteristics of the Modi government's foreign policy towards Myanmar will help us to understand more deeply the specific implementation methods and ways of the Modi government's Act East policy and the Neighbour First Policy,and can also further predict the development trend of India-Myanmar relations in the future.
