The Research On "Caodiao" Funeral Of Yi In Weishan

Death is an eternal topic of human culture and an inevitable end of nature.Many people have their own unique perceptions of life and death.Funeral rites are a set of behavioral systems around death,which contain profound cultural connotations.Studying funeral rituals is of great significance to our understanding of local society.The Yi people have a "happy mourning" saying that the end of life has always been considered a happy event by the Yi people,and the dead will become the ancestors who bless the living.But for people who are abnormally dead,people often feel feared that after the death of the soul,the soul will become a wild ghost,which will not only harm the family,but even have a bad influence on the entire village.Once there is "abnormal death" in the social group,the social group will have an imbalance in the psychological and life,thus causing the original social order to be broken.Therefore,people often have different burial styles for murder and end of life to appease the undead and avoid harm to families or groups due to abnormal death.The "Caodiao" funeral is the response measure adopted by the Weishan Yi people in the face of social imbalance caused by abnormal death.This paper records and analyzes the "Caodiao" funeral process after the "abnormal death" funeral.The cultural connotation contained in it explores the soul view,life and death view and disease view of the local Yi people.Comparing the funeral and funeral of the grass with the burial,the characteristics and functions of the grass burial funeral,as well as the structural transformation and symbolic expression in the ritual,are seen through the special funeral of “Caodiao”,which is “unnatural death”.In the "abnormal death" funeral,the local Yi people responded to the social imbalance caused by the ghosts,thus highlighting the important position and role of Caodiao funeral in the lives of local Yi people.
