Study On The Effect Of Children’s Support On The Demand Of The Elderly In Urban Communities

Along with the aging of China’s population aging,community pension is an important part of China’s pension service system and is expected to ease the pressure on pension.As the main responsibility of the elderly in their old age,the content and degree of support for the elderly’s life affect the elderly’s demand for community care services,and the health level is often an important factor in determining the demand level of the elderly.Therefore,it is particularly important to understand the relationship between children’s support and the needs of the elderly in the community and to analyze the differences in health between the two.Especially in the context of the continuous weakening of family pension function and the recognition of community pensions by the elderly,it is of great significance to clarify and coordinate the relationship between family support and family support for the support of the children.At the same time,it also solves the problem of community pension.The contradiction between supply and demand has a practical significance to meet the needs of the elderly with different characteristics.In this paper,the data of ―National Elderly Health Survey‖(CLHLS)2014 was used to select 2362 valid samples according to the research needs,and empirical research was carried out by constructing a binary logistic model.Child support as an independent variable,including children’s financial support and non-economic support;the needs of the elderly community care services as a dependent variable,covering the residential care services,medical services and spiritual comfort services;gender,age,self-rated health,marital status Demographic characteristics such as the number of children,the way of living,the level of education,the region,and the total income of the family are used as control variables.On the basis of controlling a variety of factors,the independent child support and dependent variable living care service demand,medical service demand and mental comfort service demand are separately analyzed to explore the effect of children’s support on the elderly community community care service demand;further,The samples were grouped according to the health level of the elderly to explore the differences in the health level of children’s support for the elderly’s community pension needs.The results of empirical research show that,firstly,children’s support has a significant impact on the elderly’s community pension needs: in terms of financial support,children’s financial support has a significant crowding effect on the three types of elderly care services for the elderly.Service demand has a significant crowding out effect;in terms of non-economic support,the provision of care by children has a significant crowding out effect on the three types of aged care services for the elderly.Second,there is a significant difference in health level between children’s support for the elderly’s community pension needs: in terms of economic support,as the health of the elderly declines,the financial support of the children increases the crowding effect of the elderly’s community pension needs,and the children’s economic support The amount has a significant crowding-out effect on the health care services for the elderly,and has a significant crowding effect on the three types of service needs of the unhealthy elderly.In the non-economic support,the child’s care for the elderly’s community care services is crowded out with the health of the elderly.The decline in the level is weakened,and the length of child care has a crowding-out effect on the demand for elderly people in the elderly.However,it has a crowding-in effect on the demand for elderly health services for the general elderly,and has an crowding out effect on the demand for mentally comforting services for unhealthy elderly people.Based on the empirical analysis,this paper mainly proposes the following policy recommendations: first,strengthen children’s awareness and economic support for the elderly;second,improve the long-term growth mechanism of pension levels;third,improve the community pension infrastructure;fourth The community pension service supply is differentiated.
