Bride-price,or bride token,is the wealth paid by a groom or his family to the fa mily of the woman he will be married to as an engagement or the symbol and prerequi site of marriage establishment before and during marriage.In a sense,bride-price is regarded as marriage payments to the wife's family,as t he compensation to the support payments from birth to marrige and the loss of labor f orce.As a traditional Chinese cultural phenomenon,bride-price has existed in China for thousands of years.However,in today's society,bride-price is still a popular marriage custom among the people,especially in many rural areas where the economy is relatively backward.Nowadays,with the continuous improvement of people's economic living standards,the number of bride-price increases,and the number of cases caused by bride-price increases.Because of the imperfect regulation of bride-price in Chinese law,the lawsuit cases caused by bride-price are often very complicated and the contradiction is very prominent.In this regard,the author tries to start from the perspective of analyzing typical cases,thus discovering the deficiencies of the provisions on the return of bride price at the current legislative level in our country,and then puts forward the Legislative Improvement ideas with pertinence and suggestions.Through this way,to make my contribution to the trial of disputes over the return of bride-price...
