Critique Of Freedom Of The Press In Contemporary West

Since the beginning of the new century,the diversification of culture and values triggered by economic globalization has brought about many issues concerning publicity.The issue of the publicity of our journalism is one of them.With the advantages of concept,mode and theoretical system,concept of freedom of the press in western has spread rapidly around the world,which has a negative impact on the publicity of Chinese journalism.Objectively speaking,the contemporary Western press freedom concept has an interdependent relationship with the capitalist political,economic and cultural systems,and has played an important role in safeguarding the bourgeois political rule and economic development within their system.However,indiscriminately propagating Western Press Freedom Views within Socialist Countries means more subversive and deconstruction.With the extensive and in-depth dissemination of contemporary western press freedom,the profitability of news media,the disorder of cyberspace and irrational expression have negative impacts on the publicity of our journalism.News practice activities tend to pursue economic benefits and neglect of social benefits,and the public goods attributes of news products are difficult to demonstrate;The commercial capital is pervasive,and the development trend of news media oriented by competition and interests;The problems of lack of morality,weak legal awareness and rampant false information in the field of information and communication are causing endless damage to the public interests.Meanwhile,the lack of rational cognition of the substance of Western press freedom views by ordinary Chinese people undoubtedly exacerbated the seriousness and urgency of this issue.The healthy development of journalism is not only an important work of the Party,but also an important task in the management of government cultural undertakings.Concerning the publicity of journalism,we should not only focus on the governance of anomie in the news media and the resolution of social conflicts,but also analyze and criticize the underlying causes behind the chaos.This paper first explains the basic connotation of the publicity of journalism in our country,and reveals its spiritual essence and inherent flaws based on the theoretical origin and conceptual interpretation of western news freedom.Then it points out the negative influence of Western news freedom on the publicity of journalism from the public ownership basis of journalism,the publicity of news products,the publicity of news position and the public welfare of value orientation.In the end,from the perspective of our government to maintain the publicity of journalism,we put forward a trinity governing path of theoretical construction,chaos management and moral cultivation.
