| One of the key prospects that enlargement of the European Union brings is the increase in foreign direct investments that many new member states, accession countries, and candidates aspire to obtain. The aim of this thesis is to explore the current FDI situation in Montenegro through an indepth examination of its EU integration process.By shedding light on Montenegro’s path towards the European Union our research portrays the difficulties contained in the process of reformation and explores the experiences of other countries that went through a similar development. After evaluating this country’s transition process and discussing the strengths and weaknesses in its relevant government policies,we concluded that Montenegro is on the right track that leads towards the EU but many improvements are still needed.Numerous reforms implemented as part of the EU and NATO integration process in Montenegro resulted in the stable environment that attracts FDI but in order to maintain such inflow, the Government of Montenegro has to keep developing relevant strategies to attract foreign investments. |
