Research On The Historical Role Of Zhou Baozhong In China's War Of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression In Northeast China

Since 2015,at the commemoration of the 70 th anniversary of China's victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression,Xi Jinping emphasized the "14-year resistance against Japanese aggression" and this concept has reached a consensus.To implement the guidance of the national leadership and relevant departments,Since the beginning of 2017,the Ministry of Education required that the concept of "14-year resistance against Japanese aggression" should be comprehensively included in the country's primary and middle school textbooks,which is a show of respect for historical facts and full affirmation of the resistance of the Chinese in Northeast China against the Japanese aggression in 1931-1937.Leaders of the Northeast Anti-Japanese United Army played an important role in Northeast China's victory in the 14-year war against Japanese invasion and,therefore,it is of great significance to thoroughly study the historical role of Zhou Baozhong,a leader of the Northeast Anti-Japanese United Army,in the Northeast region's resistance against Japanese aggression.This paper first analyzes the background of Zhou going to the Northeast region to fight Japanese invaders.Against the backdrop of Japan's wild aggression into China's Northeast region after the September 18 th Incident,the China-Japan conflict had become the main challenge facing the Chinese people and,to safeguard the fundamental interests of the Chinese people,the Communist Party of China led the resistance against Japanese aggression in the Northeast region.Zhou had been influenced by the Marxist thought and had accumulated some initial experiences of organizing and participating in revolutionary activities.So the CPC sent Zhou to the Northeast region to lead the region's resistance against Japanese aggression.The paper then summarizes Zhou's historical activities in the Northeast region's resistance against Japanese aggression and analyzes Zhou's historical role from multiple perspectives — politically,he led people in the Northeast region to publicize the principle of resisting against Japanese aggression and safeguarding China's sovereignty and territorial integrity put forward by the CPC;and he advocated unity in Northeast region against Japanese aggression and strengthened leadership of the Northeast Anti-Japanese United Army;militarily,he organized troops to fight Japanese aggression,attached importance to guerrilla war and logistics and provisions for the troops;he also contributed to Party organizational team-building,attached importance to military system work and organized the mass work.The paper finally sums up Zhou's contribution to the Northeast region's fight against Japanese invasion and his role in the fight.The author hopes that the paper can help promote study of the Northeast Anti-Japanese United Army issue and dig deeper into the historical significance of the 14-year resistance against Japanese aggression.
