New Opportunities,Strategies And Ideas For Economic Cooperation Between China And South Korea

The stability of the Korean Peninsula has an important impact on China's development because of the geographical closeness of China and the Korean Peninsula.Since the melting of the cold war system,when the Chinese government formulates its foreign policy towards the Korean Peninsula,political,economic and non-governmental exchanges are all factors that cannot be ignored.After taking office,North Korean leader Kim Jong-un promised to denuclearize the Korean Peninsula.He held the historic first US-North Korea summit meeting with US President Trump in Singapore,which means that North Korea is looking for an opportunity to develop its economy.North Korea's road towards denuclearization and opening up the door to economic openness are also new opportunities for economic cooperation between China and South Korea.Under the condition of denuclearization of North Korea,it is also possible for China and South Korea to promote the new economic cooperation strategy.China and South Korea should establish economic cooperation programs based on the principles of "consultation,co-construction,win-win" and "government-led,enterprise-oriented,market-oriented".Both China and Korea have rich experiences in economic cooperation with North Korea.Therefore,under the condition of denuclearization of North Korea,we can consider the economic cooperation mode of the three parties.In order to further develop China-South Korea economic cooperation and promote the denuclearization and economic opening of North Korea,the three sides need to set up a coordinating committee for economic construction.At the same time,China and South Korea can jointly participate in the management of the North Korea's Economic Development Zones.China and South Korea need to form a plan on the Korean government's New Economic Map" strategy and the Chinese government's "One Belt One Road" strategy,especially considering the idea of the "East Asian Railway Community" proposed by the Korean government,which could solve the problems of transportation and logistics barriers faced by the East Asian countries,and further promote economic integration in East Asia.Plus,it could also be extended to the strategy of "One Belt One Road".Such economic cooperation between China and South Korea will contribute to the establishment of friendly economic cooperation between China and South Korea,and ultimately to the maintenance of peaceful development in Northeast Asia.
