A Study On The Community Integration Of The Elderly With Group Work Intervention

Many scholars in our country pay more attention to migrant workers and teenagers,but pay less attention to a special group of floating population,that is,the elderly with moving,and the research on the community integration of the elderly with moving.They moved from familiar communities to strange cities.In the new urban communities,they lack communication and interaction with the local residents of the community,lack a sense of belonging and identity to the community,view their relationship with the community only as "outsiders",and have a low degree of community integration.This is not conducive to personal,family,community and social harmony.As a mobile group,they lack their own community support network.Community support networks are critical to their interpersonal interaction,community participation,community identity and sense of belonging.They are eager to integrate into the local community,but for a variety of reasons,they have problems in interacting with local residents,participating in community activities,enjoying community public services and feeling of belonging to the community.Therefore,there is a need to use the professional approach of social work to help the elderly to solve the problems of community integration,their interaction with local residents,their participation in community activities,their access to community public services and their community ownership.Strengthen their ties with the community so that they can better integrate into the community.In this study,8 elderly people in S community of Nanjing were chosen as the research objects.The group work method was used to help them overcome the fear of difficulties,master the methods and skills of interpersonal interaction,and set up a new community support network.To improve their interaction with local residents and participation in community activities,improve their access to community public services,and form a sense of community belonging.First of all,according to the basic information of the elderly in S community in Nanjing,20 elderly people were randomly selected from among them,and 8 of them with lower scores were selected from the questionnaire to investigate the status of their community integration.The problems and causes of their community integration are analyzed.Secondly,based on the voluntary principle,4 local residents are selected from the community,12 of them are selected as the objects of group service.In the social goal model,the author provides them with a platform for participation,leads them to communicate and interact with each other,enhances their knowledge,ability and access to resources in groups,overcomes the difficult feelings of community integration,and learns interactive skills.Ways and means to reduce their sense of powerlessness,enhance their sense of responsibility for the community,in the process of participation in the formation of a sense of community belonging,integration into the community.The results showed that the group intervention was effective.Finally,this paper summarizes and reflects on the whole service process from four aspects.From the whole process of practice,it can be found that the social goal model is necessary and feasible in solving the problem of integration of the community with the elderly,and this model has a strong applicability to the vulnerable groups and reduces the powerlessness of the victims.There are remarkable service effects in overcoming the fear of difficulties,improving the ability to communicate with people,improving the participation of community activities,enjoying the level of community public service and forming a sense of belonging in the community.In practice,it is difficult for social workers to have strong professional accomplishment and flexible use of multiple roles of social workers.By acting as an advocate,the author can help the clients to integrate into the community effectively by playing the role of the capable person,the guide,the communicator and the resource link.At the end of the paper,The author carries out policy advocacy.
