Since China's accession to the WTO,China's foreign trade business volume has been increasing,more and more products are sold to the international market." Made in China" is also more and more favored by overseas consumers,China's enterprise sin-brand building has also made considerable progress.However,due to domestic enterprises,especially small and medium-sized enterprises,the awareness of trademark protection is weak,in international trade activities lack of distress,the way of international trademark registration,policies and so on know very little,the trademark overseas rights protection has doubts,independent brand trademarks overseas has been snapped up incidents,to domestic enterprises to open up the international market caused a heavy blow,seriously restricting the construction of enterprises' own brands.In order for Chinese enterprises to realize the internationalization of their brands and create independent international brands,they must attach great importance to the international registration of trademarks in international trade.The Chinese government has always attached great importance to brand work for a long time,and the CPC Central Committee and the State Council have made a series of important decisions and deployments to the construction of independent brands.The State Council has also designated May 10 as "China Brand Day",governments at all levels,enterprises and all sectors of society have become more and more deeply aware of brand building,the development of brand economy,to build their own brands are also increasingly attracted to the attention of all sectors of society.In view of the current domestic enterprises in the layout of overseas markets encountered by the trademark grab and a series of difficulties and problems,relying on the enterprise's own ef'forts or rely on the market mechanism to adjust is far from enough,the government should consciously take the initiative to take active and effective policy measures,give full play to the "tangible hand" of the role of regulation,strengthen policy support and publicity guidance,to adapt to the current economic and social development and the actual needs of enterprises,to help enterprises set up their own brands.Based on the enumeration and analysis of the relevant data on the international registration of trademarks in Shandong Province between 2012 and 2018,this paper summarizes the characteristics of the international registration of trademarks at different times and stages in Shandong Province,and shows the significant role of the government in promoting the international registration of trademarks through data comparison.As a typical case,the city analyzes the specific experience and achievements of dongying municipal government and relevant departments,thus triggering the thinking on how the government can play a role in promoting the international registration of trademarks,and on the existing basis,put forward suggestions on how to better play a role in promoting the international registration of trademarks,so as to improve the corresponding institutional mechanism and provide effecti ve assistance for the construction of independent brands.
