After the Ukrainian crisis broke out in 2014,Russia's relations with European and American countries have deteriorated sharply.Under the pressure of multiple rounds of sanctions in the West and the severe domestic economic situation,Russia has positioned its eyes on the East and actively carried out exchanges and cooperation with Asia-Pacific countries. This strategic change has attracted the attention of many scholars and experts at home and abroad.Russia's "eastward" strategy of the period has also become one of the hot topics in the field of international relations and diplomacy. The impact of the background of the Ukrainian crisis on Russia's diplomatic strategy, and what changes have been made to Russia's "eastward" strategy in the new period, these issues are worthy of attention and research. This "eastward" strategy is not Russia's first attempt. As early as in Russia and Russia,large-scale immigration and development of the vast eastern part of the country were carried out to achieve territorial expansion and consolidate national defense. In addition, the Yeltsin period after the collapse of the Soviet Union and Putin's early presidency paid more attention to the development of Russia's eastern region. The rise of the Far East and Siberia was listed as a priority for the entire 21st century country, and efforts were made to ease and develop relations with Asia-Pacific countries Relationship. Therefore,it is of practical significance to study Russia's "eastward"strategy in the new era in the context of the Ukrainian crisis. As an important neighbor of our country, facing the background of economic globalization,we need to grasp the content and motivations of Russia's foreign policy adjustments, evaluate the effectiveness of Russia's "eastward" strategy at this stage, and analyze the opportunities faced in developing Siberia and the Far East. And challenges, favorable factors and constraints to make a certain degree of prediction for Russia's future strategic direction,so as to more accurately deal with the future economic, political, and diplomatic relations between China and RussiaNational interest determines external strategy. This article first explains the occurrence and development of the Ukrainian crisis in the framework of national interest theory, analyzes its impact on Russia's foreign policy in the new period, and discusses the new content of the "eastward" strategy, namely, economic recovery,Approaching the Asia-Pacific region and easing the pressure;Secondly, the reasons for Russia's "eastward" strategy were analyzed from both domestic and foreign perspectives;from the perspective of effectiveness evaluation,at this stage,Russia's "eastward"strategy has achieved certain results, which is for Russia Economic development offers new opportunities. However, the development of the east still faces many constraints and needs to be addressed urgently. This has important implications not only for its domestic politics and economy, but also for diplomatic relations, economic cooperation, and cultural exchanges with Asia-Pacific countries such as China,North Korea,Japan, and ASEAN.Whether Russia's current "eastward" strategy can achieve the expected success and realize the rejuvenation of the great power still deserves consideration and research. In the future,Russia should continue to strengthen ties with Asia-Pacific countries, implement Far East development projects in high-tech and other emerging areas, and make efforts to realize the Greater Eurasian Partnership.
