Research On The Theory And Practice Of United Left In Spain

Founded in 1986,as a result of a loose electoral coalition,the Spanish United Left has been officially registered as a political party in 1992.It has been for more than three decades.Since its inception,the United Left has sought to strengthen its pluralistic image,being open to new global critical social movements and active in various social forums as part of the global critical movement in Spain.The United Left explicitly demands socialism and wants to build a participatory,critical society that can replace the mainstream model.In addition,the United Left actively participates in parliamentary elections and launches coalitions with other left parties,providing a new model for the European left coalition.Taking the development of the Spanish United Left as the clue,through the comprehensive application of the historical combination method of literature review and systematic analysis method,this paper conducts a comprehensive and systematic research and discussion on the theoretical propositions and practical activities of the United Left,including the following parts.In the introduction,the background and significance of the topic selection at home and abroad are discussed.The first part discusses the general situation of the United Left in detail,including analyzing the root causes of the rise of it;based on the political development stage of the United Left,it can be divided into four stages,the initial stage(1985-1992)as an electoral union,the rapid development stage(1992-2000)as an independent party,the declining stage(2000-2008)as an identity dilemma,and the difficult reconstruction stage(2008-present);and united left basic composition analysis.In the second part mainly from politics,economy,social and cultural three aspects elaborated the United Left theory argues.The third part mainly elaborated the main practice of the United Left,including parliamentary election,workers' movement and international union.In the fourth part,on the basis of in-depth analysis of the internal contradictions and conflicts of the party election system in Spain,the challenges and development prospects of the United Left are discussed.
