The recent survey issued by chinahrd net shows that the job burnout among Chinese civil servant group is becoming increasingly severe.The burnout level even reached up to 54.88 percent in 2004 which ranked the top level.The grass-root civil servants have heavier workload and work stress.They not only carry out the governmental policies but offer social service.However,their heavier workload,lower wage and limited promotion channels are more likely to result in their job burnout.The job burnout not only has a bad influence on the physical and mental health of the civil servants but influences the public trust and efficiency.Therefore,the study on job burnout among civil servants is of great significance.This study chose 160 civil servants from Jinchuan District of Jinchang City to conduct questionnaire survey through MBI questionnaire and used empirical approach to research into the current status of job burnout of civil servants of Jinchuan District of Jinchang City based on the result of previous research and interview.The reasons causing job burnout of civil servants were discussed in this study based on the data statistics and suggestions to improve the situation were put forward then.It was concluded that nearly half of civil servants in Jinchuan District of Jinchang City suffered from job burnout and the job burnout was influenced by demographic variable such as age,position and number of years at the office and so on.This study put forward suggestions to solve the problem according to the research conclusions and relevant theories combined with the actual condition of Jinchuan District of Jinchang City.
