The “Belt and Road” initiative is an initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping in 2013 to promote regional cooperation and promote economic development of the nations along the route.Due to its huge potential and its attitude of adhering to the principles of “co-negotiation,co-construction and sharing” It has received the attention of the world since it was proposed.As an important neighbor of China,it is also an important economy in East Asia.Understanding Japanese society's understanding of the “B&R” initiative is of great significance to the implementation and development of the “B&R” initiative.As a carrier of public opinion,the media can both reflect the changes in public opinion and influence the direction of public opinion.Understanding the Japanese media's perception of the “B&R” initiative has the understanding of Japanese society's awareness of the “B&R” initiative.Important role.As an important media in Japan,Asahi Shimbun has always been regarded as a media with a neutral position and represents the mainstream public opinion in Japanese society.The recognition of Asahi Shimbun can be used to understand the Japanese media's awareness of the “B&R” initiative.Window.So,what is Asahi Shimbun's perception of the “B&R” initiative and how it has changed,this article will analyze the Asahi Shimbun 's perception of the “Belt and Road” initiative and its changes.This article mainly selects Asahi Shimbun's report on the “B&R” initiative from January 1,2015 to January 1,2019 as the research object.First,it quantitatively analyzes the Asahi Shimbun report on the “B&R” initiative.The sample was selected by equidistant sampling method for the report,and then analyzed from the number,length and tendency of the report.In terms of the number of reports,it is expounded from the distribution of the number of reports and the year,the trend of the number of reports,and the reasons for the change in the number of reports.Combined with the changes in the number of “B&R” reports,the changes in the Japanese media's attention to the “B&R” initiative have been analyzed.In terms of reporting tendency,the Asahi Shimbun report on the “B&R” reporting tendency.It will analyze the tendency of the reports on the “B&R” and study the tendency and changes of the reports in China.Tendency analysis will be divided into three attitudes: positive,neutral,and negative.The analysis of the three attitudes over time will be combined with field-level analysis to analyze the tendency of Japanese media's reports in different fields.In terms of reporting areas,reporting is also divided into two categories,political and economic,and the degree of attention and tendency of the two areas are analyzed.This article finds that the Asahi Shimbun 's attention to the “B&R” initiative has gone through a process from low to high.It can be divided into two stages.The tendency of the reports on the “B&R” initiative is also biased.Negative to neutral.Asahi Shimbun views on the related reports of the “B&R” initiative is mainly political and economic.The economic understanding is to relieve the downward pressure on the economy,supplement domestic economic policies,and break the dominance of European and American economic rules.There are three main points of view in the political perspective.There are three main points of view in the political cognition: the superpower strategy,the geopolitical strategy with military and political colors,and the strategy of maintaining economic globalization.By using the process tracking method,it is found that the Asahi Shimbun 's perception of the “B&R” initiative and its changes are mainly due to changes in relations between the two countries,Japan 's overall perception of China,and changes in the international situation.
