| Employment is an effective way to achieve self-worth.As an important force to participate the labor market,women’s employment problem can’t be ignored.Childbearing is always relevant to women’s employment.Many studies have shown that fertility is an important cause of women in the job market at a disadvantage.Exploring the impact of fertility on female employment is of great significance to further improve our employment policy and protect women’s rights.Based on the survey data of Xiamen,the paper explains how fertility affects the employment situation of women.The study found that the women’s career break and the female employment can be owed to the type of units,gender roles,parenting costs,child’s age,child care and so on.The more support from family and social,the higher quality of work and lighter stress between family and work.Therefore,to promote women’s employment and improve fertility,we should focus on establishing the employment-supporting mechanism.Developing the practical policies and setting up a correct gender concept to get rid of the stereotype of women’s role.On the other hand,we should take new model of child care into consideration,and recognize the social value about fertility. |
