Research On The Evaluation Indicator System For The World Class University Program In Korea

In the past 10 years,in order to optimize the teaching staff,world universities have not only made great efforts to attract outstanding talents,but have also strived to strengthen their competitiveness through government or university-level financial support programs.With the development of Korean economy and the improvement of science and technology,knowledge has played an increasingly important role.To this end,major universities in Korea have developed a series of support projects for the purpose of developing research centers.The WCU project is a world-class research training program aimed at improving the international competitiveness of Korean higher education,nurturing new professional fields of basic science,and ensuring that overseas scholars with high research strength are retained to attract overseas talents.This article uses 2008 as a starting point to study the evaluation index system of the World Class University Program(WCU)project implemented in Korea in 2013.The target of the study was to select 162 project delegations from the 38 universities of the WCU project.Among these 162 project delegations 46 were prematurely terminated due to lacking resources.3 more project teams only provided incomplete information and were thus excluded as well.This leaves the actual analysis based on research of 113 project teams from 31 universities.From the academic point of view,this article will study the academic papers of various countries in recent years,and analyze and summarize their viewpoints on the construction of world class universities in Korea.Hereby,we can understand the present situation of Korean University,connecting theory with praxis,and making a detailed statement of my views.In addition to the evaluation index system,I will also compare the related data of other countries,compare the various factors of its success and failure,and draw a conclusion.
