Objective: Through the analyze the Myostatin(MSTN)gene rs3791783 polymorphism in athletes and control group and its correlation with athletic ability and physical fitness index.In order to provide biological markers for athletes selection and interpretation of physical differences between individuals.Research subjects and methods: The rs3791783 polymorphism of MSTN gene in 164 Chinese Han population was analyzed by PCR-RFLP.Among them,there were 76 National level athletes(46 men,30 women)and 88(44 men,44 women).The body composition data of all subjects were tested.The maximal oxygen uptake and aeration anaerobic threshold of aerobic athletes were measured,and college students were measured for physical fitness index.Research results:(1)The distribution of rs3791783 polymorphic loci in athletes and control groups conforms to the Hardy-Weinberg's law,has a group representative,can be used as a cohort study.There was no significant difference in allele frequency and genotype frequency distribution in each group.(2)In the group of athletes,male athletes aerobic AA genotype of VO2 max is trend higher than the AG+GG genotype(P=0.06);fat free soft male weight of athletes anaerobic AA genotype is trend higher than that of the AG+GG genotype(P=0.09);There was no significant difference between the other indexes in different genotypes.(3)In male control group,fat percentage of AA genotype was significantly lower than that of the AG+GG genotype.AA genotype was significantly higher than that of the AG+GGin standing long jump;body fat,BMI and vital capacity index were trend lower than that of the AG+GG genotype subjects and AA genotype(P=0.07,P=0.08,P=0.05),and other indicators have no significant difference.There was no significant difference in the composition of different genotypes in female control groupConclusion: The study found that the MSTN gene rs3791783 polymorphism of the Han students in the Han nationality was associated with the percentage of fat and the long jump,but it was not found that the locus was related to the athletic ability of the athletes,suggesting that the polymorphism of the MSTN gene rs3791783 could explain the differences in the part of the physical index of the Han male college students.But the above results still need to increase the sample size.
