Objectives: The aim of this study was to understand the school adjustment status of left-behind experienced college students and its influencing factors,help construct and innovate the school support system of college students,strengthen the theoretical research of school adjustment,innovate the mental health education mode,and improve the school adjustment and mental health level of left-behind experienced college students.Methods: Literature review and questionnaire survey were mainly used in this study.Based on the results of relevant literatures research,this study adopts the scale of Chinese College Student Adjustment Scale(CCSAS)which was edited by Xiaoyi Fang et al.Questionnaire survey was conducted among 1,800 students from Anhui Medical University,Anhui Agricultural University,Anhui University of Architecture,and School of Clinical Medicine of Anhui Medical University by stratified cluster sampling method.A total of 1,800 questionnaires were distributed and 1,772 valid questionnaires were collected finally.The recovery rate was 98.44%.The data was collected and verified by EpiData3.1,SPSS11.5 was used for statistical analysis.For categorical variables,data was computed as frequencies and percentages,while for continuous variables data was presented as mean ± standard deviation(SD).Student's t-test and one-way analysis of variance(ANOVA)were performed,respectively,to test the differences among the demographic characteristics on the school adjustment scores among left-behind experienced students.P<0.05 was considered statistically significant.Results:(1)There was statistically significant difference in school adjustment between left-behind experienced college students and non-left-behind experienced college students.The school adjustment level of left-behind experienced college students was relatively low,with an average score of(192.81 ± 25.88)points.(2)There was statistically significant difference in school adjustment(t=-3.611,P<0.001)between left-behind experienced college students and non-left-behind experienced college students.The left-behind experienced college students' scores of learning adaptation(t=-1.949,P=0.001),campus life adaptation(t=-2.612,P=0.009),career adaptation(t=-2.817,P=0.005),emotional adaptation(t=-2.703,P=0.007),self-adaptation(t=-2.634,P=0.009),and degree of satisfaction are(t=-4.116,P<0.001)were lower than those of non-left-behind experienced college students.(3)Whether as students' leader,average monthly living expenses,grade,self-evaluation score of academic performance,and per capita income per family are the influencing factors of school adjustment among left-behind experienced college students.Conclusions: The school adjustment of left-behind experienced college students is affected by many factors.Colleges and universities should start to build and innovate the school support system for left-behind experienced college students,improve their school adjustment and mental health level.
