| Under the background of information age,information technology has driven all aspects of social change,and the traditional school education has been challenged,which requires education to train more innovative talents for the society.Khan Academy was born in the United States to meet the needs of the times,with the help of information technology,to create a learner-centred online learning platform.Here,learners participate in the learning process as the subject of learning,so that learners have the full autonomy to learn,thus enhancing their confidence and learning ability,and promoting their personal development more effectively.This thesis systematically studies the Khan Academy and its teaching mode,explores the teaching idea behind its success,and on this basis,puts forward some suggestions for the reform of China’s teaching mode.The Khan Academy of the United States was founded in 2006 by Sal Khan,who was an American of Bengali origin.Its organizational scale has ranged from a single student to a global one,and teaching content has expanded from a single basic mathematics to nine fields: finance,physics and chemistry.The Khan Academy operates on a non-profit basis,volunteer team model,video-based teaching resources,and flip-flop learning mode.The teaching model of Khan Academy is mainly embodied in six aspects: theoretical basis,teaching goal,teaching system,teaching method,teaching strategy and teaching evaluation.Among them,Khan Academy is mainly based on the learning theory of constructivism,humanistic learning theory and learning motivation theory.Teaching objectives to promote learners academic achievement and personal development;The teaching system involves such factors as learners,teachers,teaching content,content experts and learning community.The teaching strategies not only aim at the teachers teaching,but also pay more attention to the learners learning.Teaching strategies adopt developmental teaching strategies to help learners learn across time and space.The teaching evaluation mainly adopts formative evaluation,and at the same time,it also pays attention to the evaluation of learning results on the basis of the refined teaching method.The learner-centered teaching model of Khan Academy embodies subjectivity,interactivity and fairness,which has important influences on the learners’ individual needs,interest,academic achievement and learning style.At the same time,there are still some deficiencies in the teaching content,curriculum structure,teaching language and self-discipline requirements of Khan Academy.However,with the increasing innovation of technology and the continuous improvement and development of Khan Academy,Khan Academy’s promotion will be more extensive,technical support will be more perfect,curriculum content more abundant and learning methods more diversified.With reference to the teaching model of Khan Academy,there is still much room for further development in the aspects of educational ideas,teachers’ educational attainments,teachers’ roles and learning styles in China.In particular,teaching in China needs to shift from traditional teaching structure to intelligent teaching structure,from teacher-oriented to learner-oriented,and from attention to the evaluation of teachers teaching to competence-oriented learning evaluation. |
