During the period of the Republic of China,vocational education has been further developed in the exploration.As a non-governmental educational group which had great influence on vocational education,the China Vocational Education Association is an indispensable research object in the investigation of vocational education during the period of the Republic of China.The research on the theory and practice of the China Vocational Education Association and development of vocational education from all walks of life are mostly concentrated in Education and Vocation.Therefore,it is of great value to study the vocational education during the period of the Republic of China.Education and Vocation is not only a theoretical magazine that introduces foreign vocational education thoughts,but also an important historical data that reflects the development and change of vocational education during the period of the Republic of China.The development of this magazine reflects the development and change of vocational education during the Republic of China to a certain extent.The development of vocational education during the period of the Republic of China can be divided into several stages:First,the period from 1912 to 1917 was the stage of industrial education.The second was the establishment stage of vocational education system from 1917 to 1922.The third was the troubled development stage of vocational education from 1922 to 1949.The introduction of foreign vocational education theory and system during the Republic of China triggered the historical transformation from industrial education system to vocational education system,and also experienced the twists and turns and difficulties in the formation and development of vocational education system.In this development process,the China Vocational Education Association performed continuous exploration in practice and theory,promoting the establishment and development of China's modem vocational education system as well as the society 's view of vocational education concept and understanding of change from different fields.Through the systematic combing and analyzing the development course of Education and Occupation,this paper probes into the historical experiences and lessons of the development and evolution of vocational education during the Republic of China,which has historical significance not only in the development history of modern vocational education,but also in the current reform and development of vocational education.This study set focus on the Education and Vocation,using historical researching methods,literature analysis and content analysis methods to analyze the Education and Vocation of the China Vocational Education Association during the period of the Republic of China.The study consists of three chapters illustrating three stages according to the time background of vocational education and the characteristics of the magazine.The three stages are the start-up stage,the development stage and the adjustment stage respectively.This paper is divided into five parts,the introduction part mainly describes the research background,research ideas,research methods,and the research object of literature review and concept definition.The first part illustrates the initial stage of Education and Vocation,which was considered the ten years from 1917 to 1926,and mainly introduces on the founding purpose,basic situation and some other facts of Education and Vocation.The characteristics of the magazine content in this period are summarized.It also analyzes the participation of Education and Vocation in 1922 school system development and publicity relating to the great events of the time.The second part covers the development stage Education and Vocation,a decade after 1927.This chapter is mainly comparing statistical data of the stage with the previous period,in perspectives of the number of magazine articles,content form and other changes,exploring the development of magazines,and studying vocational education focus of issues of Education and Vocation during this period.Finally,linking the vocational education events of this stage,analyzes vocational education regulations and other activities which Education and Vocation participated in.The third part is about the adjustment stage of Education and Vocation,which was limited between 1937 and 1949.The chapter sets comparison with the previous two periods,studying the changes of the magazine during this period.At the same time,we have studied the vocational education which Education and Vocation focuses on at this stage.The conclusion summarizes the development of Education and Vocation,and puts forward personal opinions on the development of vocational education.
