At different times,there is a huge difference in social demands on educational technology professionals.With an overall plan and a basic requirement on personnel cultivation,the cultivation program has a detailed description of the objectives,basic requirements and the core curriculums.The development of educational technology in our country not only relies on the overall development track of the international discipline but also has its uniqueness.Thus the determination of the master's program in each school is not only influenced by the history of its own discipline,but also challenged by the development of the discipline in the world.Researching the development of educational technology in the country where the discipline is more developed internationally can provide us with practical suggestions on how to adjust the cultivation program.Literature analysis,content analysis,case analysis and comparative analysis are the main research methods.Firstly,by means of literature analysis,the author reviewed some related articles at home and abroad about the curriculum,the competency and the education of educational technology at a master level.It can help understand the status of personnel cultivation in domestic and foreign universities and the social demand on the educational technology professionals.Secondly,in the quantitative content analysis,the author analyzed 131 required courses and 296 elective courses of the 19 foreign universities with 7 main dimensions including the disciplinary foundations,analysis,design and development,implementation,evaluation,management and research methods,which concluded the main characteristics of the curriculum of these foreign universities.The 19 foreign universities include 11 universities in America,6 universities in Canada,2 universities in Britain.Finally,the author analyzed the education technology program of Shanghai International Studies University(SISU for short)in case analysis,and compared the cultivation program of SISU with foreign ones for the base of the optimization.This research expanded the scope of the countries,including America,Canada and Britain and had a thorough and comprehensive study on the master's cultivation program for educational technology of 19 foreign universities in the three countries,which can help the relevant researchers understand the status and the feature of foreign programs,and also give some practical suggestions for the optimization for SISU's.
