Teaching design is the beginning of teaching activities,the basis of a high-quality class,and also a guarantee of efficiency and order during a class.In traditional teaching designs,teachers usually design a class using textbooks and references,and choose their teaching methods and teaching activities based on their own teaching experiences,which means it is not that scientific and systematic.The New Curriculum requires that teachers should consider students' academic levels as well as the characteristics of the subject,using various ways to guide students to learn initiatively when arranging teaching activities.This means teachers should use related teaching theories to guide themselves in designing their teaching and get a hang of teaching concepts as well as teaching arrangements.Take the school the author works in as an example,the author studies the teaching designs of math teachers,and finds that there exist problems:(1)the teaching designs are not completed,where analysis on students and teaching evaluation are often missing;(2)teachers put much emphasis on the teaching activities rather than students activities in their designing;(3)teachers usually base their teaching on their own teaching experiences,lacking in theoretical basis;(4)the key point of teaching design usually lies in practicing and explain math exercises,rather than the forming process of math concepts;(5)there is a lack of evaluation about whether the class has fulfilled the teaching goals.Teaching designs need the guidance of teaching theories.APOS is an application of Constructivism in math teaching,which emphasizes the learners' activities and the process of self-construction.Its practical use has been testified in many studies.In this essay,the author,using function as an example,apply APOS to every step of teaching designs,and studies the application of APOS in guiding the use of math teaching design strategies.This study uses document analysis method to analyze APOS theory and relative teaching design theories.Combining with the requirements of the New Curriculum,the author puts forward the teaching design based on the APOS theory,and analyzes its application to each step of the teaching design,trying to come up with designing strategies.In this study,the author draws to the following conclusions from her research:(1)teaching designs under the guidance of APOS should always pay attention to learners' activities and their constructive levels,designing teaching activities according to the cognitive characteristics of learners.(2)the construction of math concepts is not finished in one class,which means teachers should consider their teaching designs in a overall situation,and distribute the key teaching points reasonably;(3)teachers should confirm which cognitive levels students are in and expect the obstacles students may have;(4)teachers' teaching designs under the guidance of APOS should consider the teaching goals of each cognitive level,and evaluate teaching accordingly;(5)APOS should be applied to the teaching process,and the arrangements of teaching activities should follow the four constructive steps;(6)APOS cannot be applied to all the teaching of math knowledge;(7)The application of APOS in guiding math teaching design is practical,which contributes to math teaching.Finally,the author concludes the designing principles and specific procedures of teaching design under the guidance of APOS theory.
