A Case Study Of The Homework Of Grade One Pupils

Homework is most familiar to every educator,parent or society.In China’s primary and secondary schools,homework has always been regarded as the main cause of heavy academic burden on students,and it is also a problem which has not been solved for a long time in the field of education.Homework is not only an important link in teaching,but also a bridge between teachers and students to communicate.It is also an effective way to test the teaching results and the degree of students’ influence by education.Therefore,homework must be valued both in terms of teaching and students’ individual development.In this study,the investigator choose a first grade student named Xiao Tong of H primary school and make a comprehensive survey on his homework of the whole year.At the same time,his parents and teachers are interviewed.The results show that there are some problems in primary school homework,such as the total amount of homework is large,the homework can not stimulate students’ interest,the source of homework is single,and the proportion of written homework is large.On the other hand,in the process of homework completion,students did not develop good study habits,which may be affected by the participation of parents.The main reasons for these problems are the lack of school management of homework,the lack of communication among teachers,the lack of teachers’ understanding of the function of homework,the lack of scientific participation of parents and so on.In view of the above deficiencies,this study puts forward corresponding suggestions for schools,teachers and parents.First of all,the school should establish a homework management system.Next,advocate teacher rich assignment form,make student be willing to participate diligently in homework.Finally,parents should change traditional concepts and cultivate their children’s independence.In the whole process of education,the teacher is the arranger of homework,the student is the main part of the homework,and the parents are the participants of the homework,so the role of teachers and parents is especially important.It is hoped that through this study,school teachers and families can form a joint educational effort to make children have a happy childhoodand promote their physical and mental healthy development by taking homework as a breakthrough point.
