In the Geographic Curriculum Criteria of Senior High School promulgated newly in 2017,one of the basic ideas of the course is to cultivate the earning style of geographic core literacy innovatively.According to the characteristics of the process in which students cultivate their geographic core literacy, the geographic teaching process could be practiced scientifically, and the students could be guided to carry out rich and colorful research of geography in real situations in nature, society and so on through the learning method of independent, cooperative and inquiry. In new curriculum standard,“New” is to emphasize the practical application of “process and method” in the teaching.“Trying to find out geographic problems in study and life, put forward the corresponding inquiry scheme, cooperate with others, carry out the investigation, and put forward the countermeasures to solve the problems” is asked definitely in the curriculum goal of “process and method”.Decision-making ability is the concentrated reflection of students’ ability to solve the problems.Teachers cultivate students’ decision-making ability consciously in the teaching not only can improve the efficiency of teachers’ lecture, but also can make students form the habit of making decisions and improve their learning efficiency. The characteristics of comprehensiveness, regionally, application and abundant cases in regional geography of senior high school provide basic contents for the cultivation of students’ decision-making ability.Hence, cultivating students’ decision-making ability consciously in regional geographic teaching not only can let students learn more knowledge of geography in textbook, but also can let students learn more useful decision-making skills for life.In regional geography of senior high school, cultivating students’ decision-making ability is the need for regional geography of senior high school,as well as the teaching requirements of new geographic curriculum reform and the development of students’ ability.Cultivating students’ decision-making ability in regional geography of senior high school not only can improve students’ decision consciousness and ability, but also can enrich geographic teaching and implement geographic core literacy. Therefore, based on the regional geographic teaching of senior high school as the breakthrough point, this paper defines related concepts about decision-making and decision-making ability firstly, the n further discusses the significance and feasibility of cultivating students’ decision-making ability in regional geographic teaching of senior high school. Moreover, with the method of questionnaire and data statistics, this paper investigates and analyzes the present situation that teachers cultivate students’ decision-making ability in the regional teaching, and provides advisory opinions and strategies for the problems which emerge during the process in which teachers cultivate students’ decision-making ability in the teaching.Based on the survey,I find out the following problems existed in the process in which teachers cultivate students’ decision-making ability in regional geography of senior high school:1.For most of teachers in our country, the understanding depth of cultivating students’ decision-making ability is not enough, for this reason, the enthusiasm and initiative of these teachers for cultivating students’ decision-making ability are not rich.2.Teachers’ professional knowledge and skills need to be improved, and the regional geographic contents selected by teachers to cultivate students’ decision-making ability are not abundant, for example, the curriculum cases selected by teachers to cultivate students’ decision-making ability are relatively conservative.3.The teaching strategies and methods of teachers are too single. Most of teachers prefer to use traditional teaching method for regional geographic teaching, some teachers choose case teaching method, and few teachers use the teaching method of discussion and discovery, but the teaching method and situational teaching method, which are mainly based on actual training, are used less.4.In the course of teaching, teachers rarely raise or guide students to put forward decision-making problems. For open problems, most teachers choose to avoid them or give students answers directly, which is not conducive to the cultivation of students’ ability to find out problems and solve problems.5.The approaches provided by teachers for students to collect information are too single. In the study of regional geography, most of students basically refer to textbooks to collect information, which indicates that the approaches provided by teachers for students to collect information are too single, being adverse to the cultivation of students’ ability to collect and integrate information,as well as to transfer knowledge.6.The evaluation methods of teachers for students’ decisions are too single and lack of reflection consciousness. Most of teachers focus on the evaluation method of oral expression. Some teachers choose the method of job testing to evaluate students’ decision-making,and few teachers choose other evaluation methods such as self-evaluation and self-reflection for students.Based on literatures, questionnaires and case analysis as the main basis for the study, supplemented by expert consultation method and observation method as the auxiliary basis, this paper analyzes the problems found in the survey concretely, and then confirms the strategies for developing students’ decision-making ability in regional geographic teaching of senior high school from the following aspects:1.Improve the professional quality of teachers and realize the high efficiency in the classroom.2.Teachers set up the ideas of decision-making teaching, return the classroom to students, achieve their subjectivity in class and improve their ability of transferring knowledge.3.Confirm the contents of regional geography which are suitable for cultivating students’ decision-making ability, and make targeted use about the contents of regional geography to cultivate students’ decision-making ability.4.The cultivating steps of students’ decision-making ability are clearly defined, mainly from the following aspects: to guide students to put forward decision-making problems around the contents of regional geography → divide the work, cooperate in group and collect information → screen information and determine the solutions preliminarily → display scheme in group, and the other groups and teachers evaluate and improve the scheme → select the final scheme and go on public presentation.5.Promote the diversification of evaluation methods and improve the reflective consciousness of teachers and students. The significances of this paper are: firstly, demonstrate the importance and feasibility of cultivating students’ decision-making ability in regional geographic teaching of senior high school.Secondly, provide theoretical basis and cultivating strategies for teachers to train students’ decision-making ability.Although most of teachers are aware of the importance of cultivating decision-making ability, they are lack of theoretical basis and cultivating strategies.Thirdly, teachers consciously cultivate students’ decision-making ability, which can improve students’ abilities and awareness of self-determination.The process of analyzing problems, collecting information, putting forward solutions, and choosing the best solution from these solutions through the approach of cooperation by students is a process that not only can exercise the team cooperation spirit of students, but also can make students form good habits to learn actively, analyze problems and make decisions successfully, providing the basis and confidence of mak ing good decisions in advance for students to go to work in the future, which is conducive to the development of all aspects of student’s quality.
