Career and technical education(CTE)is a kind of career education,which aims to prepare students for entering post-secondary education and working,to cultivate students career awareness and career exploration,and to development student's various soft skills that needed in the world of work.The academic high school is a connection between basic education and the other types of education,bearing the important function in preparation for the entrance of higher education and employment of our students.And CTE can meet the students demand for academic study and the development of working skills,can lay a foundation for students to access to higher education,can help students acquire professional skills,professional knowledge,as well as know their own career interest,their own characteristic,and etc.The United States is the first country to carry out CTE in the world,it has formed its own mature and perfect system,therefore,the research in the American CTE curriculum offering and implementation can promote our country's academic high school's career education.In this paper,North Carolina is took for example,the American public high school CTE curriculum offering and implementation is studied.America boasts diverse CTE courses,and each states and districts have their own special system.And North Carolina CTE curriculum is rich,detailed,its objective is clear,and its curriculum evaluation form is flexible,and its curriculum implementation system is complete and effective,what's more,the curriculum bases on 16 career clusters and 8 career programs,which is full of extraordinary features.The first chapter of this research studies the development of American public high school CTE.The history and evolution process of American CTE is introduced in detail.And then the North Carolina public high school CTE purpose and tasks are researched profoundly.The second chapter researches the North Carolina public high school CTE curriculum offering and implementation,which is mainly divided into four parts: CTE curriculum goals,curriculumstructure and content,curriculum implementation,and curriculum evaluation.In the third chapter,the North Carolina CTE guarantee system which includes relevant policy,teachers' training,study platform,placement,and equipment,funds is studied penetrate.Last chapter is about summary and inspiration and advice.The North Carolina public high school CTE curriculum setting and implementing characteristics and advantages are summarized,and some enlightenment are written down,according to relevant article reading and expert interview.And finally six suggestion are gave to promote our country's academic high school CTE.
