At present,the concept of mathematics education pays more attention to "problem solving",and mathematical word problem reflect the concept of problem solving.Because the particularities of deaf primary school students causes the mathematics teaching goals to pay more attention to cultivate deaf primary school students' ability to solve practical problems,therefore,it is very important for deaf primary school students to learn to solve mathematical word problem.Through the investigation of 10 special education schools in Sichuan Province,analyzed the cognitive characteristics of deaf primary school students and found that deaf primary school students suffer from obstacles in language development due to hearing deafness.However,language ability can affect their thinking ability.Deaf primary school students are hindered by the development of language ability and abstract thinking ability,which makes it difficult for deaf primary school students to learn to solve mathematical word problem.The main difficulties for deaf students to solve mathematical word problem are: understanding the meaning of the problem and making problem solving plan,etc.Although deaf students have hearing impairment.,the majority of deaf students have normal vision and thinking.They are good at and prefers to observe vivid object.However,knowledge visualization just has the function of visualizing abstract knowledge.Therefore,it is proposed to design and develop teaching resources based on knowledge visualization,and to apply the teaching resources to cultivate ability of primary school students to solve mathematical word problem.First of all,combined with the interviewing method and the questionnaire method,analyzed the difficulties of deaf primary school students in solving mathematical word problem,and proposed solutions of the difficulties.Analyzed relevant literatures,summarized and proposed the ability of solving mathematical word problem,including comprehension ability,answering ability and testing ability.Combined the four numerical relationship to classify the mathematical word problem,and then combined the difficulty of the mathematical word problem to subdivide the cultivation process into two progressive stages:(1)training deaf primary school students' ability to solve the mathematical word problem of one-step calculating;(2)training deaf primary school students' ability to solve the mathematical word problem of two-step calculating.Then designed and developed visual resources based on relevant theories and combined with the cognitive characteristics of the deaf primary school students.Compiled test questions are prepared for testing the mathematical word problem solving ability of deaf primary school students.The test questions are distributed in five special schools in Chengdu City and Mianyang City,and then analyzed the reliability and validity of the test questions.The experimental scheme was designed,and the visual resources was applied to the five special education schools in Neijiang City.Through the teaching experiments verified that the visual resources are more helpful than the conventional resources to cultivate the deaf primary school students' ability to solve mathematical word problem.The experimental data show that:(1)visual resources have significant effects to cultivate deaf primary school students' abilities to solve mathematical word problem of one-step calculating and two-step calculating;(2)visual resources have significant effects to cultivate deaf primary school students' abilities to understand and answer the mathematical word problem;(3)visual resources have no significant effect to cultivate deaf primary school students' ability to check the result.Finally,analyzed and discussed the results of experiments,proposed a solution to train deaf primary school students' ability to solve mathematical word problem based on knowledge visualization.
