In 2010,?The Outline of the National Medium-Long Term Education Reform and Development Plan(2010-2020)?clearly stated that it is necessary for high school education to establish a student development guidance system and strengthen guidance on students'ideals,psychology,and academics.The current student development guidance work has been include in China's high school education development plan,but how to carry out the work still needs to learn from the experience of foreign school students counseling development program.It is common to see professional school counselors in the US primary and secondary schools for counseling and guidance,but domestic research on this role is still weak.School counselors,as the main body of the school counseling program,play a pivotal role.School counseling began in the early twentieth century,and the new student guidance organization was gradually accepted and implemented in the 1980s.By the end of the 20th century,the comprehensive school counseling program had become an essential way of consulting programs in the United States.During this period,the content and status of school counselors have also changed and now has developed into a professional,systematic,planned,and organized work model.The work of the counselor in the school district in Lebanon is also geographically distinctive.At the same time,it is essential to pay attention to the fact that domestic and especially poor areas need a professional counselor to carry out counseling.To alleviate the pressure of schools and teachers,to help students establish healthy values,to promote a close relationship between the school and the family,and to combine community resources to provide more possibilities for student success.This thesis focuses on the study of the counseling work of public primary and secondary schools in the United States and the present situation of school counselors in the Lebanon school district.Firstly,through the literature review,comparative research and interview research methods,this paper expounds the development of the comprehensive school counseling in the United States,discusses the formation process of the professional role of school counselors,the evolution of the work content and the professional training and cognition.Secondly,combined with the concrete practice of Lebanon School District comprehensive school counseling programs to analyze the counselors working conditions,and the analysis of domestic public primary and secondary school counseling work of local and actors,seek Motivation in the context of China's education reform.Finally,try to propose the enlightenment of the counseling work for primary and secondary school in China.The essential conclusions of this paper are:domestic schools can learn from the functional division and role orientation mechanism of the work of the Lebanese school district counselor,work content,assessment methods and techniques,professional organization of school counselors and systematic assessment tools,school counseling Professional training and qualification standards.Through the unified mission and guiding ideology,we will improve the division of school functions,integrate community and family resources,strengthen the cooperative relationship between schools,communities and families,liberate the shackles of traditional ideas,build a multi-party project cooperation participation platform,and enhance the enthusiasm of the Foundation for participation in evaluation.Various methods are needed to construct a long-term mechanism and resilience policy for the professional training of counselors in China.
