Research On Social Participation In The Governance Of Entrepreneurial Universities In Britain And America

In the context of promoting the modernization of national governance system and governance capacity,the modernization of educational governance system has been put on the agenda.To perfect the structure of university governance and build a new relationship between university,government and society is the inevitable requirement of promoting the modernization of education governance.Social participation is an important part of university governance structure.To study the social participation in university governance is not only the meaning of improving the structure of university governance,but also the realistic requirement of promoting the modernization of education governance.With the advent of the era of knowledge economy,universities are playing an increasingly important role in creating knowledge and serving the society.The relationship between university and society is getting closer and closer.How universities adapt to the development of society and what role society plays in the governance of universities are worthy of further study.Taking "entrepreneurial universities" as the carrier and Britain and the United States as research objects,this paper discusses the social participation in the governance of modern universities.This paper is divided into four chapters.In the first chapter,the theoretical premise and framework model of social participation in entrepreneurial university governance are discussed,mainly focusing on the inevitability and development trend of social participation in university governance,characteristics of entrepreneurial university development model and dimensions of social participation.In chapter two and chapter three,firstly,the emergence background,development stage and governance system of entrepreneurial universities in Britain and the United States are comprehensively explained and analyzed.Then,taking Stanford university and Warwick university as cases,the picture of social participation in the governance of entrepreneurial universities in the two countries is concretely presented.The fourth chapter summarizes the experience of social participation in the governance of entrepreneurial universities in Britain and the United States,and holds these experiences can provide the following inspirations for the governance of social participation universities in China.Establish the mechanism of the university actively adapting to social development;build appropriate platforms for society and universities;establish the institutional guarantee of the relationship between university and society.
