With the advocacy and reform of the "student-centered" educational concept, academic engagement can not only be used to measure the level of learners' participation in learning activities, but also to reflect the quality of learning as an important indicator.Under the background of "Internet + education",the role of teachers has changed dramatically. It is of great significance for learners to provide necessary teacher's support to improve their academic engagement. This study uses literature research, questionnaires, interviews and observation method. This study combs the relevant research results at home and abroad.Firstly,it summarizes the concepts, research status and theoretical results of academic engagement and teacher's support at home and abroad.Secondly,on the basis of the existing research, this paper analyses the influence of teacher's support on the level of academic engagement, and carries out a feasibility analysis, and draws a research framework. Finally, the measurement tools were found in combination with this study, which laid a foundation for the research. Before the implementation of the study, the subjects were tested with questionnaires, including learners' academic engagement and teachers' support.Through statistics, analysis, clustering and interviews on the academic engagement of the subjects, five major engagement characteristics are formed, which are poor preview habit, improper use of learning strategies, inefficient use of learning resources, inappropriate evaluation feedback and inactive participation.Among them, poor preview habit is the common characteristic of all learners, and the other four characteristics are formed by corresponding clustering with four groups. In view of the deficiencies reflected by the engagement characteristics of learning groups, this paper designs five types of teacher support strategies based on interviews.Through the implementation of teacher support strategy, the effectiveness of teacher support strategy is verified according to learning activities and interviews. Finally, the research object's academic engagement and teacher support level are tested after the implementation, and then, the research conclusion is drawn by comparing the data before and after the test. The research shows that: there is no significant gender difference and no significant ethnic difference in terms of academic engagement and the perception of teacher's support.Grouping based on the level of academic engagement can take into account the characteristics of learners' engagement, help teachers implement targeted teaching, and have positive significance for improving academic engagement.Online learning and offline learning have become the main learning methods of College students, they can provide a good environment for the implementation of teacher support strategies.Teacher support strategies which based the characteristics of academic engagement improve the level of learners' academic engagement, and learners' perception of teacher's support significantly. There is a significant difference in the perception of teachers' teaching support between before and after measurement.
