The development of science and technology has promoted the continuous improvement of human productivity and made mankind obtain great material wealth.At the same time,it also brings a lot of environmental problems to the living space of human beings.With the increasingly serious environmental situation,it becomes urgent to improve people’s environmental consciousness.Education is the key to solve environmental problems,and the basic education for adolescents is the main place for young people to carry out environmental education.Biology,as a subject closely related to nature,plays an irreplaceable role in raising students’ environmental awareness and cultivating their environmental literacy.Based on the principles of system theory,cognitive psychology and constructivism learning theory,this paper takes teaching materials and curriculum standards of compulsory education(PEP)as the research subjects,and adopts the methods of literature research and textbook analysis.This paper analyzes the research status of environmental education and teaching material at home and abroad,and defines the concept of teaching material and textbook analysis.This paper analyzes the contents of environmental education both in the Biology textbook of compulsory Education(PEP)and National Biology Curriculum Standard of compulsory Education(2011),and compares it with the content requirements of Environmental Education in Primary and Secondary Schools(for Trail Implementation).The contents of environmental education in Biology textbook of compulsory Education(PEP)in junior high schools are analyzed statistically from the aspects of content,goal,form of expression,column setting and so on.And the characteristics of the contents of environmental education in the teaching materials are summarized as follows: the content distribution is balanced,the forms of expression are direct and vivid,and the arrangement of activities is varied.This paper puts forward the strategies of carrying out environmental education in biology classroom of junior high school through inquiry learning,biology experiment,special discussion and adopting variousteaching methods.And designs five teaching cases such as forming an ecosystem of biology and environment,taking care of vegetation,turning the motherland green,exploring the effects of environmental pollution on biology,protecting biodiversity,and using bacteria and fungi by human beings.This paper puts forward three suggestions for carrying out environmental education: enhancing teachers’ environmental literacy;Develop various forms of environmental education Make full use of the teaching resources of environmental education.The purpose of this paper is to provide references for the effective development of environmental education in junior high school students of nine-year compulsory education,and to improve students’ awareness of environmental protection as well as cultivate their environmental literacy and social responsibility through the teaching of biology curriculum.
