Federer and Nadal are the most influential players in the world men's tennis.Every time they meet each other, they will become the classic players in the tennis world. However, according to many records, the younger Nadal has gained the upper hand in the record by virtue of his unique strong topspin and outstanding running ability. However,Federer has won four matches against Nadal in 17 years after 16 years of injury and rest. Therefore,it is of great value to study how Federer,a player of growing age,can maintain a high level of athletic performance. The study of Federer can also provide a good inspiration and reference for our players. This paper takes Federer's technical and tactical factors to maintain a high level of competitive status as the research object.Through literature review, video observation, comparative analysis, mathematical statistics and logical analysis, this paper studies Federer's four matches in the heyday and four matches with Nadal in the seventeenth season, and discusses Federer's old age in the face of Nada, the most feared opponent in the past. The technical and tactical changes that took place at that time reflected the reason why Federer had maintained a high level of competition for so many years in his career.(Including: serve, receive, baseline, volley before the net, etc.),after in-depth study, this paper draws the following conclusions:1.In serving,Federer did not decrease significantly in the speed of the ball, and the landing point was relatively more accurate.High-quality service was the most important factor for Federer to maintain a high level of competitive condition.2.in connection with the serve,Federer uses more aggressive return in theopponent's service game, reduces the use of cutting, uses more active attack to win initiative, and improves his ability to grasp the breaking point.3.By comparing the two phases of Federer's stalemate,it is found that Federer's offensive ability has been improved.Compared with the past,Federer has reduced the number of rounds as much as possible, and his stalemate ability has declined relatively, but his offensive rhythm has maintained a high level.4.In the stalemate stage,Federer pays more attention to the problem of physical energy consumption in the elderly stage. In the competition, more manufacturing opportunities come to the net to end a point, reduce the round as much as possible, save physical energy, consume physical energy in the key points, and spare no effort tobreak.5.Compared with the early stage,Federer's SLR ability has been improved.Federer is more advanced in the SLR position, more aggressive, and easing the passive situation to the greatest extent.
