Necklace,Maupassant’s short story,began to jump into the acceptance field of Chinese readers in the 1920s,which was officially selected to the Chinese language teaching materials after the founding of the People’s Republic.Suffering from several ups and downs,it has now become a basic article in a little Chinese language teaching material for middle schools.Academics and the Chinese language community have never stopped their researches,whose related articles presented are even more numerous.This article intends to use the dissemination and acceptance of Maupassant and his work Necklace in our country as an entry point,focusing on an analysis of the accepting process of Necklace since 1950s,and divides the process into four periods according to a certain era background and interpretation characteristics:from the 1950s to the early period of the Cultural Revolution-theme unicity interpretation period;During the Cultural Revolution--political interpretation period;From the Reform and Opening-up to the end of the 1990s--instrumental interpretation period;From the beginning of the 20th century to the present--diversification interpretation period.Afterwards,this article probes into analyzing the teaching examples of famous teachers such as Guo Chuyang,Wang Dai and You Lizeng based on the interpretation and development of Necklace more than half a century and the Chinese language curriculum standards for middle schools.Finally,this paper determines the valuable teaching contents with an overall consideration of the novel style,the theme interpretation and the specific learning situation.
