Since the 1990 s,the rapid development of information technology has had a great impact on our study, work and life, and the impact on the education field is also profound.Nowadays, multimedia classrooms in various schools have become standard.Multimedia and network have become an indispensable means for teachers to carry out teaching and students to carry out their studies. With the continuous integration of technology and teaching, problems have gradually emerged.According to relevant research, the problems of non-standard design of teachers’ courseware and unreasonable use of media in multimedia teaching always exist, which affects the effect and quality of classroom teaching. With the promotion of the country’s "golden class",the state pays more and more attention to the quality of classroom teaching. How to better use technology to improve the quality of courses and better cultivate talents has become a problem that must be seriously studied. This study aims to explore the problems existing in the application of multimedia-assisted instruction, and tries to find a solution to the problem,in order to provide some theoretical support and practical countermeasures for the development of multimedia-assisted instruction. The paper takes H college as the research scope, analyzes the content through student questionnaire survey, selects object interviews, and selects the courseware used by teachers in classroom teaching.Based on the research on the application status and application effects of multimedia assisted teaching,Problems in multimedia-assisted instruction, attribution analysis of problems, and corresponding improvement strategies.Specifically, the research of this thesis mainly includes the following aspects:Based on the theory of educational communication, cognitive load theory, multimedia courseware interface design theory and other teaching theories,a questionnaire for investigating the application status and application effects of multimedia assisted instruction is designed, and statistical analysis tools such as SPSS are used to statistically analyze the questionnaire data. From the perspective of students,we can get a deeper understanding of the current status and application effects of multimedia assisted instruction in schools. At the same time,in-depth interviews with students were conducted through interviews on the problems found in the questionnaire survey. And further analyze the content of multimedia teaching courseware, the main information carrier used by teachers in multimedia assisted teaching. The results of content analysis show that the software used in the production of multimedia teaching courseware is too singular;the excessive amount of text in the courseware is more common;some technologies, such as the use of custom animation, have too many situations. The existence of these problems leads to the unclear presentation of classroom teaching information, increasing the external cognitive load of students, and thus causing information overload problems.Combined with the results of the questionnaire survey and the interviews,it is found that there are problems in multimedia teaching for technology and technology, teaching for teaching, and for use, which will increase the burden on students’ psychological and visual senses, and it is also easy to cause information overload. The types of information overload problems in multimedia-assisted instruction are summarized as follows: information presentation is unreasonable, resulting in audio-visual redundancy;excessive teaching-independent information, increasing external cognitive load;unharmonious audio-visual environment, exacerbating external cognitive load.Combined with the types of information overload, the paper analyzes the causes from schools, teachers and students, and proposes corresponding improvement strategies.
